Terminology list<\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Trans or transgender<\/strong><\/td>\nThis is when someone feels their gender is different from the gender they were assigned at birth.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Non-binary, gender\u00a0fluid or gender queer<\/strong><\/td>\nThis means someone doesn\u2019t identify as either male or female. They could identify as both, or neither.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Cisgender<\/strong><\/td>\nThis is when someone\u2019s gender identity is the same as the gender they were assigned at birth.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Lesbian or gay<\/strong><\/td>\nWhen girls are attracted to other girls.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Gay or homosexual<\/strong><\/td>\nWhen boys are attracted to other boys.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Straight or\u00a0heterosexual<\/strong><\/td>\nWhen boys or girls are attracted to someone of the opposite sex.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Bisexual<\/strong><\/td>\nWhen someone is attracted to people of both sexes.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Asexual (sometimes\u00a0referred to as Ace)<\/strong><\/td>\nWhen someone doesn\u2019t feel sexually attracted to anyone.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Questioning<\/strong><\/td>\nWhen someone feels unsure about their sexual orientation or gender identity.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Coming out<\/strong><\/td>\nWhen a person first tells someone\/others about their orientation and\/or gender identity.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Dead naming<\/strong><\/td>\nCalling someone by their birth name after they have changed their name. This term is often associated with trans people who have changed their name as part of their transition.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
LGBTQ+<\/strong><\/td>\nThe acronym for lesbian, gay, bi, trans, queer, questioning and ace.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Queer<\/strong><\/td>\nA term used by those wanting to reject specific labels of romantic orientation, sexual orientation and\/or gender identity.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Pansexuality<\/strong><\/td>\nSexual, romantic, or emotional attraction towards people regardless of their sex or gender identity.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
