Please add useful stuff yourself.<\/p>\n<ul id=\"magicparlabel-706\" class=\"itemize\">\n<li class=\"itemize_item\">Editing can be started by going to https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/met-darc\/wp-admin\/<\/li>\n<li class=\"itemize_item\">Always click the update button before navigating away (otherwise edits will be lost).<\/li>\n<li class=\"itemize_item\">Pages are added under pages \u21d2 add new.<\/li>\n<li class=\"itemize_item\">Pages can be structured in a hierarchy by going to pages \u21d2 tree view and dragging and dropping.<\/li>\n<li class=\"itemize_item\">Menus can be edited by going to appearance \u21d2 customise \u21d2 menus \u21d2 main menu\n<ul id=\"magicparlabel-711\" class=\"itemize\">\n<li class=\"itemize_item\">Add items to the menus first, then<\/li>\n<li class=\"itemize_item\">Reorder (to reorder and\/or make hierarchy).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"itemize_item\">I believe that the main home page cannot be modified by us with our own text \u2013 we can only changed the headers, footers, menus, and featured pages, etc.<\/li>\n<li class=\"itemize_item\">Signatures of the web pages can be modified by theme customiser \u21d2 widgets \u21d2 Footer1\/2\/3.<\/li>\n<li class=\"itemize_item\">Add graphics by first going using the media option (to upload graphics to the library) and then include the media while editing the page. I have encountered bugs when trying to upload graphics without first going through the media option.<\/li>\n<li class=\"itemize_item\">Videos should be kept on YouTube, Twitter feeds should be kept on twitter, etc.<\/li>\n<li class=\"itemize_item\">Should use &lt;h1&gt;, &lt;h2&gt;, etc instead of our own formatting.<\/li>\n<li>Pages can be made private, or password protected by going to pages \u21d2 all pages \u21d2 quick edit.<\/li>\n<li>Editors\/administrators of the web site can be removed by going to the main dashboard \u21d2 Users \u21d2 All Users and removing users.<\/li>\n<li>New editors\/administrators of the web site cannot be added by us.\u00a0 We need to ask DTS to add a new editor\/administrator by putting in a ticket.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here are some hints and tips for editing this site.
