Neighbourhood Planning HIVE:  University of Reading

6th June 2018
Meadow Suite, Whiteknights Campus, University of Reading

On Wednesday 6th June 2018 the University of Reading will host Neighbourhood Planning HIVE for groups engaged in neighbourhood planning.

The HIVE event is being designed to bring together neighbourhood planners actively engaged in the process to come together to discuss and share experience and knowledge. This process of mutual support and peer learning is recognised as important and valued in neighbourhood planning and the event is being specifically designed to reflect the issues of importance to those attending. The agenda will be shaped to reflect the experiences, needs and priorities of participants as identified in the pre-event questionnaire.

The day will centre around a series of ‘workshops’ and plenty of opportunity will be provided for attendees to discuss and work through any particular issues or challenges their group is facing.

It will be led by Professor Gavin Parker and his research team who have extensive experience of neighbourhood planning and have published widely in the field, as well as having practical experience of neighbourhood planning.

Following the event a report will be produced which summarises the key findings of the questionnaire, the discussions on the day, answers to any outstanding issues and sources of further information and advice – it will provide on practical advice to help groups progress their plan. This report will form the basis for us to continue engagement with and feedback to Central Government in order to inform future policy making.

Registration is now open and will close on Wednesday 23rd May – click here to register your interest and access the questionnaire.
