Neighbourhood Planning HIVE: University of Reading
6th June 2018
Meadow Suite, Whiteknights Campus, University of Reading
6th June 2018 the University of Reading hosted Neighbourhood Planning HIVE for groups engaged in neighbourhood planning.
The HIVE event was designed to bring together neighbourhood planners actively engaged in the process to come together to discuss and share experience and knowledge. This process of mutual support and peer learning is recognised as important and valued in neighbourhood planning and the event reflected the issues of importance to those attending. The agenda was shaped to reflect the experiences, needs and priorities of participants as identified in the pre-event questionnaire.
The day centred around a series of ‘workshops’ and plenty of opportunity was provided for attendees to discuss and work through any particular issues or challenges that their group was facing or had encountered.
The NP HIVE was led by Professor Gavin Parker and his research team who have extensive experience of neighbourhood planning and have published widely in the field, as well as having practical experience of neighbourhood planning.
A summary report the key findings of the questionnaire, the discussions on the day, answers to any outstanding issues and sources of further information and advice is to be found here:
