(You probably didn&#8217;t realise how similar these are in terms of aroma chemistry). This came directly from the first two cohorts of volunteers that visited the Olfaction lab at the University of Reading. We can&#8217;t thank you enough!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1101\/2021.02.05.21251085\">Click here to read the article on MedRxiv<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0.08px\">Some interesting <\/span>new observations<span style=\"letter-spacing: 0.08px\"> came out of an analysis of The AbScent Parosmia and Phantosmia Support group on Facebook. We showed that many people with parosmia found coffee, onion, garlic, meat, eggs, mint and shower gel as the worst items for triggering the distortions and sense of disgust associated with parosmia. It was clear from this study just how much having anosmia or parosmia can affect your quality of life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1101\/2020.12.30.20249029\">Click here to read the article on MedRxiv<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The first publication to come out of the Global Consortium for Chemosensory Research where we demonstrated that those with COVID-19 were not only losing their sense of smell, but also their sense of taste (sweet, salty, sour, bitter, umami) and the ability to detect heat in spices or cooling sensations in mint.
