About me
I am a second year PhD student looking at all-year round production of strawberries in the UK. I carry out experiments in the glasshouses at the University investigating different factors affecting strawberry production. This is an industry-sponsored PhD so has input from large strawberry growers. The findings could have a big impact on the UK’s horticultural market, as local production is becoming increasingly important in the light of Brexit and increasing awareness/concern of global climate change. The purpose of my research is to build on existing successful models of all-year round strawberry production in other countries in order to produce optimal growing models for strawberry production in the UK.
