I have over eight years’ experience working in financial services risk, policy and regulation, and I have worked on legal, policy and governance aspects of scientific research at Diamond Light Source. My financial services background led me to become interested in how Open Research would manage ethical risks. My PhD project will analyse the ethical risks of Open Research using a risk-based methodology. My project will assist stakeholders to identify, understand and mitigate the ‘unintended ethical consequences’ during the implementation stage of Open Research. The types of ethical risks include lack of transparency, inequality, conflict of interest, censorship and lack of integrity.
I am the School Lead Champion for Law.
