These are some of the questions posed by Secondary School students about climate change that the video &#8220;Climate Change: the FAQs&#8221; tries to address.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">This video was prepared by myself along with 7 other researchers from Universities and Research institutes from the UK, Spain and France: Armand Hern\u00e1ndez (ICTJA-CSIC), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idaea.csic.es\/person\/belen-martrat-sotil\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Belen Martrat (IDAEA-CSIC)<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/pure.royalholloway.ac.uk\/portal\/en\/persons\/celia-martin-puertas(22b44a76-b067-46e6-8841-a3d1f8c0d215).html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Celia Mart\u00edn Puertas (Royal Holloway University of London)<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dur.ac.uk\/geography\/staff\/geogstaffhidden\/?id=17862\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Paola Moffa-S\u00e1nchez (Durham University)<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bsc.es\/ortega-montilla-pablo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pablo Ortega<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bsc.es\/moreno-chamarro-eduardo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eduardo Moreno Chamarro (BSC-CNS)<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epoc.u-bordeaux.fr\/indiv\/Didier\/public_html\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Didier Swingedouw (CNRS)<\/a>. 126 students from four secondary schools in Barcelona sent us 170 questions on climate change and we prepared the script of the video based on the most recurrent questions under 5 topics: causes, knowledge, consequences, irreversibility and solutions.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Climate Change The FAQs\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/l-2wR9zx7Rg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Coinciding with the Global Climate Strike action starting on September 20th, we presented \u201cClimate Change: The FAQs\u201d on Friday 27th September in an outreach event in Cosmocaixa (Barcelona), where students, researchers and media exchanged their knowledge and concerns related to climate change.<\/p>\n<p>After the screening of the video, there was a round table with <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/aitanarc?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Aitana Ralda<\/a> (representative of &#8220;Fridays for Future Barcelona&#8221;), <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/isabelisamoren?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Isabel Moreno<\/a> (science communicator and meteorologist of the Spanish TV program \u201cAqu\u00ed la Tierra\u201d), <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/divulgameteo?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jos\u00e9 Miguel Vi\u00f1as<\/a> (science communicator, consultant of the World Meteorological Organisation and meteorologist from Meteored) and <a href=\"http:\/\/sac.gencat.cat\/sacgencat\/AppJava\/organisme_fitxa.jsp?codi=15769\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Salvador Samitier<\/a> (Director of the Catalan Office for Climate Change). The students&#8217; engagement in the topic prompted an informative and lively discussion with the scientists and the members of the panel. We would have needed at least a week to answer all their smart questions!<\/p>\n<p>This outreach event wrapped up a fruitful 3-day PAGES-supported meeting &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/pastglobalchanges.org\/calendar\/upcoming\/127-pages\/1831-climovar-19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CLImatic MOdes of VARiability (CLIMOVAR) over the Holocene: model-data synergies to improve future projections<\/a>&#8221; led by Armand Hernandez.
