The Resilience Rucksack Project is a part of a wider community of charities and organisations who are working together to provide support for young people. This project could not have been run without the support and creative collaboration of many. Please read below to see who has contributed to this project.

Boys in Mind are youth centered, with young people at the front of everything they do. They work in partnership with children, young people and professionals in a range of settings to model and promote good mental health and prevent suicide, particularly among boys and young men. Boys in Mind spark conversations which can be life changing and live saving.

Together, we created a short stop-motion animation film. Boys in Mind understand the power of film to reach hearts and minds. Film enables young people to be heard and those filming to listen. Often, we don’t need to provide advice or solutions, we just need to listen, and filming is a fantastic way of observing and recording without interfering. Last year, Reading Resilience Rucksack was thrilled to participate in the School Gala Day arranged by the Edinburgh International Book Festival on August 29, 2023. It was an exciting opportunity for us to engage with the school community, share information about our project, and involve participants in a meaningful activity.

In partnership with the Edinburgh International Book Festival, we have created a book list for teenagers that explore resilience and wellbeing. The Edinburgh International Book Festival works to foster a love of books, words and reading, and inspire people of all backgrounds and ages to explore new ideas and expand their horizons.

This book list is available on the Edinburgh International Book Festival Learning site Books for resilience and wellbeing – Learning | Edinburgh International Book Festival (edbookfest.co.uk) and also here.

The Resilience Rucksack Project will also be running a stall at the 2024 Gala Days!

We have partnered with the UK’s leading mental health and sports charity, Sport In Mind, to include the journal kit as one of the Resilience Rucksack wellbeing tools. The Journal is a fantastic way to support you to get more active, feel more in control and put in place some healthy habits.

We also have an incredible network of schools who we have worked with on the Resilience Rucksack Fairs. Click here to find out more about the Resilience Rucksack Fairs.
