Our first Friends of AnDY webinar was held on 10th March 2022.
Event programme:
Dr Ray Percy, Clinical Director AnDY
The Internet is overflowing with information about mental health and self-help resources, and we know that finding the right information and advice can feel overwhelming. At this webinar, Ray will be showcasing a range of free-to-access and paid resources from trusted sources that have been helpful to other children, young people, and families we have supported. Some of the resources will help increase your understanding of anxiety and depression, while others will provide practical evidence-based advice about ways of coping.
Prof Ciara Mccabe, Director of Neuroimaging of Reward Group
Prof McCabe’s aim is to find ways to improve treatments for adolescent depression. In this talk, Prof McCabe will speak about her work, which is looking at how rewards influence our behaviour and how we think, with a focus on how rewards affect the loss of pleasure and enjoyment often experienced by people with depression. Prof McCabe will also speak about how treatments influence how people with loss of pleasure and enjoyment respond to rewards.
Prof Stella Chan, Charlie Waller Professor of Evidence Based Psychological Treatment
Stella is both a clinical psychologist and a mental health researcher. She will chair the event, share her insights on young people’s mental health, and to provide updates about the research development of AnDY as well as information about how to get involved.
