{"id":2757,"date":"2021-11-24T10:14:13","date_gmt":"2021-11-24T10:14:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/redpeak\/?p=2757"},"modified":"2021-11-24T10:27:08","modified_gmt":"2021-11-24T10:27:08","slug":"residential-electricity-demand-peaks-sequences-and-markov-chains","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/redpeak\/2021\/11\/24\/residential-electricity-demand-peaks-sequences-and-markov-chains\/","title":{"rendered":"REDPeAK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Residential Electricity Demand: Peaks, Sequences and Markov Chains<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Research questions we are aiming to answer:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How do timing and duration of activities vary at different temporal, spatial and socio-demographic scales?<\/li>\n<li>Which clusters of consumers can be identified based on activity sequences and socio-demographic information?<\/li>\n<li>Which sequences of activities that occur during peak demand can be shifted?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Expected outcomes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Understanding the sequences of activities and structure of the daily routines could provide information to smart home automation systems enabling residential demand side response services.
