The NWCSAF software has been running operationally at the MetOffice since 2000. It runs on AutoSat and produces high resolution Atmospheric Wind Vectors (AMVs) for the UKV forecasting system. In addition, there are many other products are produced for nowcasting. An example is the Convection Initiation found on the MetOffice TIGGER image browser.
