SUMMARY:Alumni Lecture: Making Architecture\, Making Communities
DESCRIPTION:Award winning architect\, broadcaster and academic\, Piers Taylor\, will join us to discuss how architecture can bring about transformations in people and places\, and how ‘making’ can be a vehicle for participation. Piers will explore 20 years of practice\, showing work that ranges from projects for schools in the most deprived communities in the UK\, to more recent work at the National Arboretum that presents a model of how communities can do things for themselves. Piers will also be talking about how strong links between academia and practice are essential for architecture and education to thrive. \nAdmission free\, but booking essential.
