The awards will be distributed across six new research projects.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Professor Sakthivel Valyapuri (Pharmacology)<\/strong> has been awarded funding by the Medical Research Council for the project MICA: Combinational therapeutic approaches using regenerative medicine and next generation antivenoms to prevent\/treat snake-bite \u2013 induced muscle damage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr Chris Westbrook (Meteorology)<\/strong> has been awarded funding from the Natrual Environment Research Council to study New measurements of snowflake scattering and microstructure using a novel Multi Wavelength-Multi-Angle Scatterometer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Professor Lucia Nagib (Film, Theatre &amp; Television)<\/strong> has been awarded funding by the British Council Official Development Assistance for the project (Re-) connecting in China.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr Danny Feltham (Meteorology)<\/strong> has been awarded funding from the Natural Environment Research Council to study Fragmentation and melt of Arctic Sea Ice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxmsonormal\"><span style=\"color: black;\"><strong>Professor Simon Potts (Agriculture)<\/strong> has been awarded funding from the Natural Environment Research Council to investigate the Economic benefits of Pollution to global food Systems\u00a0 &#8211; Evidence and Knowledge gaps.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxmsonormal\"><span style=\"color: black;\"><strong>Professor Ian Givens (IFNH) <\/strong>and <strong>Professor Vimal Karani (Agriculture)<\/strong> have been awarded funding form the British Council for the project Implementing Nutrigenetics and Nutrigenomics\u2019 Research &amp; Training Unit (N2RTU) at University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) for Malaysia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Miriam Clegg (Food &amp; Nutritional Sciences) <\/strong>has been awarded funding from the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council for the project Food added for life years: Putting Research into Action (Food4Years).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Edward Shepherd Real (Estate &amp; Planning)<\/strong> has been awarded funding from the Economic and Social Economic and Social Research Council for the project Ideology, housing and land value capture: Uncovering the politics of development land value.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Researchers at the University has have more funding success this month with funds awarded by research councils and learned societies.
