Researchers at the University of Reading have had more funding success with awards from research councils and learned societies.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Maria Maiaru<\/strong> (School of Chemistry, Food and Pharmacy) received a research grant from the Academy of Medical Sciences for investigating the analgesic properties of psilocybin in preclinical models of chronic pain.<\/p>\n

Len Shaffery<\/strong> (School of Mathematical, Physical and Computational Sciences) received a NERC Doctoral Training Grant for SCENARIO DTP Studentship –\u00a0 Predicting the ecological and societal impacts of species on the move with climate change in the UK.<\/p>\n

Carol Fuller<\/strong> (Institute of Education) received funding from Thames Valley Violation Reduction Unit for a research assistant and a report.<\/p>\n

Andy Turner<\/strong> (School of Mathematical, Physical and Computational Sciences) received a NERC research grant for bridging theory to reality in projections of the Asian and West African monsoons (BRIDGE)<\/p>\n

Gabor Thomas<\/strong> (School of Archaeology, Geography and Environmental Science) was awarded a research grant from the Royal Archaeological Institute for ‘From Tribal Centre to Royal Monastery: Settlement Transformations at Early Medieval Lyminge’.<\/p>\n

James Ferryman<\/strong> (School of Mathematical, Physical and Computational Sciences) received a research grant from the Alan Turing Institute for the Reading Turing Network 2022.<\/p>\n

Chris Merchant<\/strong> (School of Mathematical, Physical and Computational Sciences) was awarded a NERC research grant for research on Greenland’s ice sheet change as a result of rising lake temperatures.<\/p>\n

Nikos Katzourakis<\/strong> (School of Mathematical, Physical and Computational Sciences) was awarded a research grant from EPSRC for research on the Supreme Challenges of Supremal Functionals.<\/p>\n

Chittur Srinivasan<\/strong> (School of Agriculture, Policy and Development) was awarded a BBSRC research grant for Realigning UK Food Production and Trade for Transition to Healthy and Sustainable Diets.<\/p>\n

Julian Park<\/strong> (School of Agriculture, Policy and Development) received a research grant from Horizon Europe for Sustainable renewable energy VALUE chains for answering FARMers\u2019 needs (VALUE4FARM).<\/p>\n

Alejandra Perotti<\/strong> (School of Biological Sciences) was awarded a research grant from Horizon Europe for Natural Traces in forensic investigations – how the analysis of non-human evidence can solve crime (Natural Traces).<\/p>\n

Kimon-Andreas Karatzas<\/strong> (School of Chemistry, Food & Pharmacy) was awarded a research grant from Horizon Europe for FAIRification of multiOmics data to link databases and create knowledge graphs for fermented foods (FAIROmics).<\/p>\n

Cherry Law<\/strong> (School of Agriculture, Policy and Development) received a research grant from the British Academy for exploratory research into linking energy use to household food security in India.<\/p>\n

Anna Tsakalaki<\/strong> (Institute of Education) received a research grant from the British Academy for improving literacy skills of primary school-aged refugees from Ukraine and their families\u2019 confidence in leading literacy activities at home through a strategy-based family-training.<\/p>\n
