{"id":201,"date":"2021-10-19T09:58:09","date_gmt":"2021-10-19T08:58:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/safeguarding-children\/?page_id=201"},"modified":"2021-10-19T10:26:14","modified_gmt":"2021-10-19T09:26:14","slug":"project-updates-2021","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/safeguarding-children\/project-updates-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"Project updates 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Links to the latest press releases of our global impact can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.keepingchildrensafe.global\/?s=peacekeepers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Keeping Children Safe website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In October 2021 Rosa Freedman was interviewed about sexual exploitation and abuse by World Health Organisation staff:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Claims of abuse by aid workers during Ebola outbreak in Congo | The World\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CJSHf-IFZeo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In August 2021 the Ministry of National Defence in Uruguay l<a href=\"https:\/\/www.keepingchildrensafe.global\/blog\/2021\/08\/17\/training-peacekeepers-in-child-safeguarding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">aunched a groundbreaking training guide on safeguarding children from exploitation and abuse<\/a> in the context of UN peacekeeping missions based on our research and work.<\/p>\n<p>Our research and work includes working <a href=\"https:\/\/www.keepingchildrensafe.global\/blog\/2020\/04\/01\/working-with-dfid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">with DfID to implement safeguarding in their largest NGO partners<\/a>\u00a0and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.keepingchildrensafe.global\/blog\/2020\/06\/03\/the-dfid-self-assessment-tool\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">assessment tool is available open access<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The government published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/dfid-enhanced-due-diligence-safeguarding-for-external-partners\/child-safeguarding-due-diligence-for-external-partners\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a report on our work with DfID<\/a> and provided a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/summary-of-findings-from-central-assurance-assessments-of-dfid-partners\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">summary of our findings<\/a> .[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Links to the latest press releases of our global impact can be found on the Keeping Children Safe website.
