Project lead: Flora Samuel
Flora Samuel is the research lead for the ‘Place’ strand of the UK Collaborative Housing Evidence Centre (CaCHE) which aims to locate and critically consider the importance of existing and new housing in different spatial dimensions. The Place theme includes linked sub-themes concerned with improving place and place-making. The Reading arm of CaCHE has been developed in collaboration with Professor Geoff Meen and Professor David Clapham.
CaCHE is a consortium of 13 partners led by the University of Glasgow. The centre is a multidisciplinary partnership between academia, housing policy and practice. Over the course of the five-year programme, CaCHE researchers will produce evidence and new research which will contribute to tackling the UK’s housing problems at a national, devolved, regional, and local level.
CaCHE is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, Arts and Humanities Research Council and Joseph Rowntree Foundation.
