N<\/span>atural and A<\/span>nthropogenic pR<\/span>ocesses, I<\/span>mpacts and O<\/span>pportunities<\/b><\/p>\n

The scientific scope of SCENARIO<\/span> is broad, spanning the physical, chemical and biological processes within the overarching theme of “environmental risk and sustainability” over a wide range of temporal and spatial scales. We have supervisory expertise spanning seven Science Themes: climate and climate change;\u00a0 weather and natural hazards; hydrological cycles and processes; applied ecology and biodiversity; biochemical cycles; earth observation, remote sensing and near-Earth space and infrastructure systems and two-way link with the environment.<\/b><\/p>\n

NERC are fully funding 65 PhD studentships (12 per year, for 5 years) plus an additional 5 for Cohort 10. We aim to increase the student cohort with co-sponsorship.<\/p>\n

SCENARIO is led by the University of Reading<\/a>, with four further Host Partners (where lead supervision of students will also take place): the University of Surrey<\/a>, the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology<\/a> (CEH), the British Geological Survey<\/a> (BGS) and the Institute of Zoology<\/a> (IoZ).<\/p>\n
