This include involvement with schools.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Inclusive Teaching Practices:<\/strong><\/span> Mindful of inclusive teaching practices that create a welcoming and supportive learning environment for all students. This may include using inclusive language, incorporating diverse teaching materials, and being mindful of different learning styles and cultural backgrounds.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Studentship offer: <\/strong><\/span>We encourage applications from all under-represented groups, including candidates with caring responsibilities or those with a disability. In our project selection, we ask potential supervisors to keep EDI in mind and as a result you will find that activities such as field work or prolonged periods away from the host organisation are often optional. It is our intention that the move to anonymised applications will widen participation for all under-represented groups. For more <a href=\"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/scenario\/about-us\/equality-diversity-and-inclusion\/\">details<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">On campus Experiences<\/span>:<\/strong> Provide opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience through field work, and workshop activities. Ensure that these opportunities are accessible to students from diverse backgrounds and accommodate a range of abilities and interests.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Diverse Practices:<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0.08px\"> Implementing policies to actively engage individuals from underrepresented groups.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Training and Education<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0.08px\">: Providing training programs and workshops to raise awareness about unconscious bias, cultural competence, and inclusive leadership.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Promotion of Inclusive Culture:<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0.08px\"> Celebrating diversity through events and recognition programs, and fostering a culture where all involved feel valued and respected.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Community Engagement:<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0.08px\"> Engaging with external stakeholders, such as community organizations and advocacy groups, to support broader diversity and inclusion efforts<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><strong>Faith and Belief in Practice<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Faith and Belief in Practice is a University initiative\u00a0that seeks to increase awareness and understanding of religious and belief communities in the University.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative includes several activities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The publication\u00a0of an\u00a0annual\u00a0calendar of significant faith, belief and diversity dates.<\/li>\n<li>Highlighting University facilities that are available for\u00a0reflection or prayer There are the Chaplaincy building and the Muslim Centre on the Whiteknights campus. During Ramadan, a marquee is erected for the purposes of prayer.
