Previous studies report that 90% of autistic children between the ages of 3 to 6 experience some degree of sensory processing differences, including, hyper-reactivity, hypo-reactivity and sensory seeking behaviours (Tomchek and Dunn, 2007). Through interactive tablet games, cognitive and sensory assessments and brain imaging via electroencephalogram (EEG), our study aims to further explore the factors that shape autistic children’s engagement with the sensory environment, and how it impacts their development and mental health.
