{"id":530,"date":"2022-08-16T01:46:43","date_gmt":"2022-08-16T00:46:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/sparc-ga2022\/?page_id=530"},"modified":"2022-10-01T23:58:10","modified_gmt":"2022-10-01T22:58:10","slug":"poster-presentations","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/sparc-ga2022\/poster-presentations\/","title":{"rendered":"Poster Presentations"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\">Attending online<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<p>If you are attending the SPARC GA online, <strong>please email us (<a class=\"moz-txt-link-abbreviated\" href=\"mailto:sparcGA2022@sparc-climate.org\">sparcGA2022@sparc-climate.org<\/a>) your poster on PDF format by the 9th October 2022<\/strong>. This will ensure we have enough time to upload all posters (we have more than 300 posters!) to the online platform before the meeting starts.<\/p>\n<p>Online posters can be prepared as A0 posters (landscape or portrait) or smaller and saved as PDF before emailed. Please ensure that the writing\/figures are big enough to be read on any device that the poster will be opened on.<\/p>\n<p>For online posters and during the assigned presentation times (see below), you can interact with other participants through the \u2018comment functionality\u2019 on the microsite (which is the online platform we will be using throughout the GA). We will provide a meeting room at all venues during poster sessions so that you can arrange to video chat with in-person participants or other online presenters. There is no recommended or provided software for video calls, please use the microsite and its comment functionality to arrange meetings. We will also print all titles\/presenters of online posters onto a &#8216;A0&#8217; poster and put that on a poster board at each hub location so that people will be aware which poster is currently available online. Presenters can leave a comment on their presenter page on the microsite that states a specific time when they will be available to chat to people.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Attending in person<\/strong><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<p>If you are attending the SPARC GA in person, you will be able to put your printed poster on a poster board at the venue. To ensure that all online attendees and attendees at different hubs will be able to see your poster and be able to interact with you, we would also like to upload your poster to our online platform that we are going to use during the SPARC GA. Therefore, <strong>please email us (<a class=\"moz-txt-link-abbreviated\" href=\"mailto:sparcGA2022@sparc-climate.org\">sparcGA2022@sparc-climate.org<\/a>) your poster in pdf format by the 9th October 2022<\/strong> at the very latest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please read the below for more information about sizes of poster boards and other details specific to your hub:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>[vc_tta_accordion][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Asia Hub&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1660611318938-1d931115-6a2d&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Poster board size<\/strong>: 200 cm (H) x 80 cm (W), which is suitable for <strong>portrait posters only. <\/strong><\/li>\n<li>There are several printing shops near FIO, so you should be able to print your poster upon arrival if preferred.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Americas Hub&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1660611318938-43e295b4-3e6b&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Poster board size:<\/strong> 72&#8243;x 48&#8243; (182 cm x 121 cm).\u00a0 Suggested poster size is 48&#8243; x 36&#8243; but any size smaller than poster board dimensions will work.<\/li>\n<li>Please bring your printed poster, as you may not be able to print them at the venue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Europe Hub&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1660611468675-bbcfa8b8-e054&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Poster board size:<\/strong> 84.1 (W) x 118.8 cm (H), which is suitable for<strong> portrait poster up to a size of A0 only.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Please bring your printed poster, as you may not be able to print them at the venue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][\/vc_tta_accordion]<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">Poster sessions<\/h3>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">During the conference, all poster presenters will be assigned several poster sessions in which they can answer questions about their work either in-person or online. Please take a note of your poster sessions (labelled RS1, RS2, BS1, BS2, or QS1 in the programme) and follow the guidance on when your poster should be displayed and when you should be available to talk with other attendees about it. The lists of poster presenters per session is available from the <a href=\"https:\/\/research.reading.ac.uk\/sparc-ga2022\/conference-programme\/\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">Poster Lightning talks<\/h3>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">To ensure that Early Career Researchers (ECRs) can introduce themselves and their work to the community we have arranged several sessions of lightning talks and assigned participants who identified as ECRs to these sessions. During the lightning talks, <b>you will not be able to present slides<\/b> but instead will be asked to introduce yourself and your work in no more than <b>60 seconds<\/b>. We will be very strict in restricting you to this time with a countdown clock displayed to the audience. Think about creative and fun ways in which you might introduce yourself through jokes, songs, poetry.
