As a gateway event for the Happy Days Beckett Festival in Enniskillen, the Linen Hall Library Belfast is hosting several Beckett-related activities this week.<\/p>\n

Tonight, actor Frankie McCafferty will talk about his work performing in Prime Cut’s Endgame,<\/em> together with a excerpts from Beckett’s work performed\u00a0 by C21 Theatre Company.
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

Tomorrow the Library will host a Beckett Colloquium with the following speakers:<\/p>\n

Conor Carville on \u2018Beckett, Ireland and the 1930s\u2019;
\nMark Nixon on \u2018Samuel Beckett\u2019s Echo\u2019s Bones\u2019;
\nDr Kathryn White (UU) \u2018Know Happiness\u2019: Beckett\u2019s Late Works;
\nDr Eamonn Hughes (QUB) on \u2018Beckett\u2019s Post-war Prose\u2019; and
\nDr Sam Slote (Trinity College Dublin) on \u2018The Connections Between Beckett and Joyce\u2019.<\/p>\n

Throughout these events the ‘Becoming Beckett’ exhibition of materials from the Reading University archives is at the Linen Hall and free to the public:<\/p>\n

“For the first time ever in Belfast, a selection of Samuel Beckett\u2019s manuscripts, memorabilia and letters from Reading University\u2019s renowned Beckett Collection will be displayed. Beckett (1906 \u2013 1989) is recognised as one of the most influential writers of the 20th century and a key presence in the \u2018theatre of the absurd\u2019 genre. There will also be readings, talks and dramatic performances.”<\/p>\n
