This public event has been scheduled to launch the paperback edition of Ripped, Torn and Cut: Pop, Politics and Punk Fanzines from 1976, a collection of original essays exploring the motivations behind – and the politics within – the multitude of fanzines that emerged in the wake of British punk from 1976. Featuring talks, presentations and discussions with fanzine producers alongside academics and historians specialising in the history of punk subcultures, the event will also include a pop-up exhibition of fanzine artwork curated by the Design Activism Research Hub at LCC and book stalls including Manchester University Press, the Subcultures Network and the Punk Scholars Network. Anyone interested is welcome to attend the event. A free sign-up will be sent out via Eventbrite in order to register as space in the lecture theatre for the talks will be limited.
