Omaima is interested in improving the social qualities and wellbeing in urban neighbourhoods. She was involved in developing the nomination file for The Pearling Road in Muharraq, Bahrain\u00a0for inclusion in UNESCO\u2019s World Heritage List. She was also engaged in numerous urban walks in cities around Bahrain to promote the interaction with the locals and to create better communication channels between architecture students and residents. <\/p>\n
Her PhD research is centred around exploring ways to reconcile bottom-up and top-down approaches of neighbourhood sustainability assessment. She is examining the ability of community-led Post-Occupancy evaluation in localising expert-led neighbourhood sustainability assessment tools. <\/p>\n
Omaima is a Fellow of the HEA with 11 years of teaching experience at the University of Bahrain. She holds an MA in Architecture and Critical Theory from the University of Nottingham. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
