Piers Taylor is an award winning architect who won a scholarship to study for a PhD at the School of Architecture<\/a> at the University of Reading.<\/p>\n

Piers was awarded one of ten Anniversary PhD Scholarships up for grabs from the University\u2019s Graduate School for 2017 entry. His PhD, entitled \u2018Contingent Negotiation\u2019, fits into one of the University\u2019s five research themes \u2013 Environment. It will explore the consequences of using making to explore alternative design processes and will be supervised by Professor Flora Samuel.<\/p>\n

As a practicing architect, and founder of architects Invisible Studio who have won a number of RIBA Awards for their work, Piers teaches workshops at the School of Architecture that look at designing through making. He was able to offer students a valuable insight into the practicalities of their designs, and supported the design and making of a structure for the students\u2019 end of year show<\/a>. In addition to being principal of Invisible Studio, Piers is also a broadcaster for the BBC.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
