Dr Karen Jones, Associate Professor in Educational Leadership and Management at the Institute of Education, University of Reading is addressing this critical question through her research on the barriers faced by women leaders in climate action in Kenya. Her work is now featured as a case study of international best practice in a newly launched Times Higher Education white paper, produced in partnership with KPMG.

The white paper explores how universities worldwide are contributing to the achievement of UN Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality, using data from over 1,300 institutions across 100+ countries.

Karen will be joining a panel of global experts on 29 May 2025 to discuss these vital issues and explore how higher education can drive real, lasting change.
