Stakeholder engagement is at the heart of the project to ensure inclusive and context-specific solutions. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Research was undertaken through a series of facilitated online Focus Group and Round Table discussions. <\/span>Our engagement spanned multiple levels, including local communities, government agencies, civil society organisations, private sector actors, academic institutions, researchers and students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">The research examined the impact of <strong>cultural, socio-economic<\/strong>, and <strong>institutional barriers<\/strong> that hinder women\u2019s participation in leadership roles in <strong>climate-related initiatives<\/strong>. Qualitative data were collected over a four month period in 2024 through <strong>interviews<\/strong>, <strong>focus groups<\/strong>, and <strong>stakeholder roundtables<\/strong> involving <strong>women leaders<\/strong>, <strong>NGOs<\/strong>, <strong>government agencies<\/strong>, <strong>academics<\/strong>, and <strong>community organisations<\/strong>. The scope of the research primarily focused on <strong>urban and rural women<\/strong> engaged in <strong>climate action leadership<\/strong> in sectors such as <strong>renewable energy<\/strong>, <strong>sustainable agriculture<\/strong>, <strong>disaster response<\/strong>, and <strong>climate education<\/strong><strong> in Kenya. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>By fostering dialogue across these sectors, the project aimed to create meaningful and sustainable pathways toward gender-equitable climate leadership, contributing to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that target gender equality, climate action, descent work and economic growth in Kenya.<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">The findings will be used to inform future strategies and initiatives to strengthen gender equality and women\u2019s leadership in climate action in Kenya.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The research will include qualitative data collection through focus groups, and stakeholder roundtables.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":219,"featured_media":445,"parent":23,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"__cvm_playback_settings":[],"__cvm_video_id":"","footnotes":""},"coauthors":[22],"class_list":["post-25","page","type-page","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.8.1 -
