Thanks to everyone who was able to make the launch of the main report and toolkit from,\u00a0the\u00a0Maternal Wellbeing, Infant Feeding and Return to Paid Work<\/em><\/a> study funded by the Nuffield Foundation.\u00a0 Professor Sarah Jewell,<\/a> from the University of Reading, introduced the study, the key findings<\/a> and toolkits<\/a><\/p>\n

This UK study investigated the wellbeing, opportunities and experiences of mothers who wish to continue to breastfeed on return to paid work. Previous evidence found not meeting infant feeding goals (feeding in the way the mother wants to, for as long as they\/their child wishes to) can have a detrimental impact on wellbeing for both mother and child. Further, it explored how employers can be better equipped to support their breastfeeding workers, and how workplace policy, and practice can evolve to support them.<\/p>\n

Drawing on the lived experiences of mothers, HR professionals and line managers in the UK, combined with national datasets, the study provides practical, evidence-based recommendations for policy makers and for workplace policy \/ practice.<\/p>\n
