Introduction to our academic computing services for students

This session gives a tutorial on how to access and use our academic computing services. It is aimed at students, in particular those who are just starting their course at the University of Reading.

This session gives a tutorial on how to access and use our academic computing services. It is aimed at staff and covers the material from the tutorial for students as well as services specifically for staff.

The ACT training sessions are open to all staff and students. We are working on a booking system but for now please email Maria Broadbridge to secure your space.

Introduction to ACT Services – These training sessions are run regularly to familiarise staff and students with our ACT systems. The sessions cover a full hands on introduction to our systems and are run in PC labs across campus. They will give an overview of our systems and storage and teach how to access and use them.

RACC Training – These sessions provide more in-depth training on our Reading Academic Computing Cluster (RACC). Topics covered include for example accessing software, making the best use of the available resources and running batch jobs.

 

University of Reading Coding Club

The Research Software Engineering (RSE) Group provides training in coding skills across the University and is open to all staff and students.
