Engaging decision makers

Weather and climate models are subject to numerous sources of uncertainty, and interpreting and communicating their results requires a nuanced understanding of the strengths and limitations of the underlying modelling approaches and the data that are used to initialise, train and validate them. Research undertaken at the University of Reading supports the communication of complex scientific concepts in a clear and accessible way, making the information more understandable and useful to a wide range of audiences. Our research also helps to translate the results of weather and climate models into actionable information, such as forecasts, early warnings, and risk assessments.
