By now, the Covid lockdown was on the brink of beginning and the editors had deadlines of many kinds in their sights too. As such, I completed the first full proofread of the book, and Katy saw to all the corrections. When the deadlines had all passed and when the editors were free again, they conducted the second full proofread (three pairs of eyes are better than one pair), finding more typos and minor errors that I had not seen. Our discussions in May involved final decisions about the book cover, trying to find a way of launching the book without being able to have a ‘book launch’ until September, and constructing this website.

At the end of May, our book went to print. Usually, our books are published by the Design and Print Studio at the University, all organised by Geoff Wyeth, but lockdown meant that we had to use an external printing service this time. With all of us working remotely, emails and Teams meetings moved the book through to production, and we finally published on Dalloway Day 2020.

Our official book launch will be in September 2020 (if all goes well). This website offers another kind of ‘launch’: see ‘Samples’ to get a taste of some of the writing contained in the book.
