The Change in Agriculture group, with the Centre for Effective Innovation in Agriculture and Agri-TechE, led a workshop on agri-tech adoption. This was attended by 40 key stakeholders in the UK agri-tech ecosystem, including the agri-tech centres, farmers, Defra, Innovate UK, universities, Innovative Farmers, SAOS etc. We will write the findings up into a report.

We explored business models/strategies to aid the adoption of agri-tech. Key messages included involving the farmer (or other user) at every stage of development, ensuring that the costs of use are properly accounted for, and the need to sell a range of technology benefits such as lifestyle improvements as well as economic performance. The day’s talks and discussions will be written up into a report.

Thank you to Alice Mauchline, Kate Pressland, and Becky Dodds for organising and to the great speakers and attendees.
