Funded by Defra as part of their Test and Trials programme, Agricology led a piece of work looking into the use of online videos and podcasts to conduct knowledge exchange with farmers. The purpose of the project was to assess the value of videos and podcasts in the delivery of advice and information on the new ELM scheme, but it also shed light on the role of digital extension methods during COVID. The University of Reading (Rose, de Boon, Schillings, Smith) and CCRI (Chivers) assisted Agricology in this report.
We conducted focus groups with 29 farmers in England and a survey of 141 English farmers, plus a literature review and analysis of engagement with videos and podcasts on Agricology’s website.
