The impacts of climate change are accelerating, posing new challenges and risks to the financial system. These include adapting to increased physical risks from extreme weather, financing the transition to Net Zero, and moving towards Nature-Positive Finance that addresses the loss in biodiversity.
The Climate and Finance Research Cluster at the University of Reading brings together researchers from Business, Finance, Climate, Environmental Science, Ecology, and the Built Environment to address these interdisciplinary research challenges.
2026 Climate and Finance Conference. Join us on 3 November at the ICMA Centre, University of Reading, for the conference titled Insurance for Climate Risk: Indemnity, Parametric and Hybrid Solutions. Organised in collaboration with the Met Office, the conference will bring together experts from academia, policy and industry to examine how climate science and innovative insurance design can address insurability, affordability and climate-protection gaps, particularly in the UK and Europe.
