What is the project about?
The DELTEA project examines the role of technology in foreign language teaching and learning in the primary school.
It aims to enable a step-change in foreign language teaching and learning in the primary school by investigating, in its first phase, whether digital professional development can support teacher learning and affect teacher motivation to teach primary languages. In its second phase, as part of a classroom intervention using app-based phonics and digital storytelling, DELTEA will track children’s foreign language learning and the development of creativity and empathy. In the final phase of the project, researchers and teacher-partners will co-create to produce a professional development Massive Online Open Course (MOOC) and evaluate teacher motivational outcomes.
