Curriculum and Pedagogy
Curriculum and Pedagogy Cluster
This cluster explores the complex interplay between teaching, learning, and curriculum, from design and delivery to interpretation and impact. We interrogate how pedagogical practices are shaped by, and in turn shape, broader educational policies, institutional priorities, and learner experiences.
Our work spans subject-specific pedagogies, such as Language and Literacy, Mathematics, English, History, Music, Computing, Art, and Science, while also addressing cross-cutting questions about cognition, motivation, and the dynamics between teachers and learners. We examine not only what is taught and how, but why, and to what effect.
Members of the cluster investigate the evolving role of digital and AI technologies in educational settings, as well as the implications of leadership and teacher cognition for practice in schools and higher education. Ultimately, our research aims to understand how curriculum and pedagogy shape educational outcomes—and how they might be reimagined to support more equitable, engaging, and responsive forms of learning.
