Alex Arnall (University of Reading) and Uma Kothari (The University of Manchester) launched a photography exhibition on Dhiffushi Island, Kaafu Atoll, in the Maldives on Friday 26th November 2021. The exhibition explores the importance of the harbour to everyday island life and how harbours can shape social, economic and environmental change. The images were taken by people living on Dhiffushi and by the research team who put the exhibition together. They were curated as part of a project on visualising and representing environmental change in island communities funded by the UK Economic and Social Research Council and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (2020-21).
