Expertise: Diana has led the implementation of 72 Technical Agroclimatic Committees in 11 countries and Participatory Climate Services with farmers in 5 countries in Latin America. Diana is part of the climate and crop modeling team that won a United Nations award in 2017 at the COP23 ceremony for their contributions to bridging the gap between climate information generation and its use by farmers.
About me: Diana from Colombia joined the International Potato Center in Lima, Peru, where she pursued her Master’s studies in Meteorology at the National Agrarian University La Molina, accredited by the WMO, with a placement at the Center for Weather Forecasts and Climate Studies (CPTEC) in Brazil. She then returned to her country and has been working for the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) in Cali since 2012 as a Climate Scientist. Currently, she has finished her Ph.D. program at the University of Reading in the United Kingdom, in the School of Agriculture, Policy, and Development. Her research focuses on Climate Services for Agriculture in Latin America.
