Printing Posters – How To
Navigate to the University of Reading’s own Design & Print Studio website. DPS have a step-by-step guide here. The form to order a poster for printing can be found here.
Make sure you plan ahead! There is usually a quick turnaround, but it can take several days to print a poster during a busy period.
Student Travel – Checklist
What do you need to do to follow University travel protocol?
- Find out remaining travel budget
- e-mail to ask your PA about your fund’s balance (The up-to-date list of contacts will be in the latest version of the student travel + claim + insurance instructions on the SMPCS intranet pages – Scroll Down)
- Get quotes for cost of travel
- Quotes and booking can be done through Grey Dawes travel via e-mail: reading@gdg.travel
- You are required to use this travel agent for overseas travel >£300, all other travel can be booked yourself
- Complete the online risk management form on RISIS (under ‘Actions’ select ‘Student Risk Management’)
- Additional forms may be required if you are travelling to a risk or sanctioned territory (more on this here)

Summer Schools
In addition to a travel approval form, further approval is needed by the Met PhD director (Clare Watt). There is a fund (separate to that from your PhD project grant) for students wishing to attend summer schools. This is around £750 per person.
