Ground investigation and borehole surveys – undertaking mechanical borehole investigations, monitoring geotechnical drilling operations, and retrieving sediment cores suitable for geoarchaeological and palaeoenvironmental analysis.
Specialist sediment and soil sampling – using techniques such as peat coring, column sampling, bulk sampling and Kubiena block sampling to recover intact sediments for laboratory assessment and analysis.
Stratigraphic interpretation – describing and logging sedimentary sequences and interpreting the geological and archaeological processes that formed them, providing an understanding of landscape development and archaeological preservation.
