In Sylvan’s session we explored how practice research works when the participants are actively engaged and embedded in the research as co-researchers, i.e. doing more than solely taking part. We discussed the importance of participants co-owning and driving the research process, and being credited as co-researchers. Sylvan challenged us to think about what participants stand to gain from taking part in our research, through the lens of the brilliant Verbatim Formula and ReSTART projects, verbatim theatre-making and working with and for care-experienced young people.
