Dr Matthew Belmonte
Matthew Belmonte is brother and uncle to two people with autism, and combines expertise in computer science and cognitive neuroscience. His work with universities and clinics in India, England and the United States has related prerequisite skills such as sensorimotor interaction, attention and executive function to the emergence of social communication, and has applied this connection to caregiver-delivered, computer-assisted therapy that focuses on developing these prerequisite skills. Belmonte brings to the project this expertise in applying mobile computing technology to autism. Matthew Belmonte is a visiting researcher at the Com DEALL Trust, Bangalore, a Reader in Psychology at Nottingham Trent University, and an honorary member of the Centre for Autism, University of Reading.
