Braintools is a global project which aims to develop a ‘toolkit’ for measuring brain development in locations all over the world. This kit has been developed by the team at Birkbeck, University of London.
The aim of the Braintools project is to develop a method of measuring cognitive markers of brain development that is optimised for low-income settings, in the hope that this method can then be used in large-scale projects to detect early risks of under-development and to develop early interventions for this.
The Braintools kit will be used in a subset of children taking part in the STREAM assessment, and will act as a validation tool for the STREAM app measures.
