Following our presentations of the Women in Type research project at academic conferences in Antwerp and Birmingham last year, our team has had a number of opportunities this year to publicly discuss our progress. Back in June, Prof. Ross introduced our methodology and research objectives at the Women in Publishing conference, a symposium organised by Dr Nicola Wilson, Dr Sophie Heywood and Dr Daniela la Penna at the University of Reading.

We also had the privilege to present our research to an American audience as part of the TypeCon conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the end of the Summer. September provided us with two further opportunities to discuss the Women in Type project, firstly as part of a Women in Tech event at Palantir’s London offices, and secondly as part of the Journée Romande de la Typographie, which took place in Nyon, Switzerland.

It will also be a great privilege for us to present the research as part of the Annual Beatrice Warde Memorial Lecture, to take place at St Bride Library in London on 13 November 2019.
