Researchers at the University of Reading undertook a study on Maternal Wellbeing, Infant Feeding and Return to Paid Work. This study explored the wellbeing, opportunities and experiences of mothers who wish to continue to breastfeed on return to paid work, and how employers could be better equipped to support their employees. This showed that mothers, HR professionals and line managers would benefit from greater awareness, information and guidance on the practicalities of combining breastfeeding and paid work, legal obligations and best practice. As part of this study we, therefore, have developed evidence-based resources for supporting breastfeeding and return to work.
