Dr Jim Woodhill appointed as Agrifood Systems and Futures Hub Director

We are delighted to announce that Dr Jim Woodhill has been appointed as Director of the Agrifood Systems and Futures Hub. Jim will start in post on 17th March 2025. The Agrifood Systems and Futures Hub will provide a focal point for a variety of interdisciplinary research approaches that apply systems and futures methodologies to agrifood challenges.

Jim is a thought leader and practitioner in systems change. With over three decades of interdisciplinary experience in food systems, sustainable agriculture, environment and international development, he brings a wealth of knowledge and networks to Reading.

His work integrates academic insight, high-level facilitation skills, and extensive field engagement across Africa, the Asia-Pacific, and Europe. Jim has held senior positions in academia, government, and civil society, and has consulted extensively for United Nations organizations. He is also the founder and Lead of the Global Foresight4Food Initiative.
