The people of Plymouth are marking the centenary of Nancy Astor’s election by unveiling a permanent memorial to her.
Hayley Gibbs was commissioned to design and build the statue following a public design competition in February 2019.
The campaign to raise the statue to Astor has raised over £125, 000 so far and is backed by Teresa May and other prominent MPs.

The statue, will be unveiled on Plymouth Hoe on Thursday 28 November 2019 and will be England’s first public statue of a female politician.
