Edwards lab at the University of Reading as developing rapid antibody tests to detect antibodies against Covid-19. This type of test allows detection of the coronavirus in peoples blood samples even if they do not have an active infection.

The picture to the right was taken by Sophie Jegouic who is currently working to develop the coronavitus antbody test in the rapid immunoassay platform using microcapillary film technology used in Edwards lab. The laboratory platform used for these kind of tests can often take 8 h to complete whereas the rapid test can be completed in under 30 minutes.
