Workshop 1: Prospective Collaborative Research between Malaysia Cardiovascular Specilaists, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and University of Reading

Brilliant workshop over the last two days taking place at Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) in Kuala Lumpur aiming to increase research collaboration with Malaysian Cardiologists, the Universiti Teknology Malaysia (UTM) and University of Reading.

 

Excellent talks from everyone who presented and fascinating insight into the cardiovascular challenges in Malaysia and in IJN, a specialist cardiovascular hospital in KL.

The meeting brought together platelet researchers Professor Jon Gibbons, Dr Chris Jones and Dr Sakthivel Vaiyapuri along with Dr Al Edwards and Dr Sarah Needs from School of Pharmacy with an interest in point of care diagnostics and bioengineering to solve healthcare problems. UTM delegates included researchers with broad interests from fundamental biosciences to robotics to help tackle these issues.
