On Thursday 22nd November 2018, around 16 of the University of Reading’s Institute of Education staff had a chance to showcase their research projects to Professor Adrian Bell, the new Dean of the University’s Prosperity & Resilience (P&R) research theme.

Reading IoE is a vibrant hub of innovative and impactful educational research. In the latest UK Research Excellence Framework (REF 2014), we were ranked in the top ten nationally for our research publications with 80% of our research considered to be world-leading or internationally excellent. Research conducted at Reading IoE fall under the University’s Education, Language and Learning (ELL) research division which is led by Professor Carol Fuller.

Professor Fuller said “It was great to be able to showcase our vibrant and dynamic researchers to our new Dean. He could clearly see we are a diverse but committed group of academics. We are excited to work with Adrian and look forward to exciting research developments within prosperity and resilience.”

Professor Bell commented that “It was a pleasure to hear about the diverse and important research being undertaken at IoE. The event was intense in a good way, and revealed a dynamic and energetic team of academics committed to their own agendas, the research division and the wider theme. I will take a lot away from the presentations not least how to make PowerPoint jiggle.”
