A blog post, titled ‘Exploring notions of ‘good’ academic leadership in challenging times’ and authored by by Prof. Alan Floyd (Professor of Education, University of Reading), was published on the Society for Research into Higher Education (SRHE) website as part of a symposium exploring aspects of higher education leadership in a changing landscape.
In his post, Alan draws on data from projects that have explored more flexible ‘distributed’ and ‘collaborative’ models of leadership, crucially focusing on data from both leaders and the led, to explore academics’ expressed notions of ‘good’ academic leadership in times of change and challenge.
